Thank you to the volunteers who assisted with our Field Day. The students had a great time, even with the wild wind that whipped their food off of their plates. Without the parents, grandparents, and friends we would not have such a successful day.
We had our annual award assembly on Thursday June 12th. Congratulations to the students who received awards for the county spelling bee, perfect attendance, passing the WLPT test, American Legion writing contest, Arbor Day participation, 3rd grade recorder awards, choir award, Beth Utzinger writing and art contest, and the REACH Awards.
We want to welcome Mrs. Dirk to our staff for the 2008-09 school year. She will be teaching 4th grade. Mrs. Huckaby will be a "TOSA" Teacher on Special Assignment for the school year as the elementary's Math Coach.
Please remember to be safe during the summer, seat belts, helmets, and life vests are crucial to protecting our children. I hope you have a great summer and enjoy the extra time with your children, whether you are taking a vacation or just walking to the post office.
NEW LOOK! You may have noticed that the school district has changed publishers of our district newsletter. An easier format, bright colors and vivid pictures bring a whole new look to the publication. Our district calendar will not be delivered through the newsletter. One came in the most recent newsletter and another will be printed in August.
Thank you for making Tonasket such a great place for students to learn. Please remember that the elementary school can always use volunteers. What do volunteers do? Work in the classrooms, work with small groups, help with the book fair, clerical work, and just about anything else you can think of happening at school. If you have some extra time, please contact Leann at 486-4933 to volunteer.
